Meg lives in London and has worked in publishing, public relations and advertising. She is the winner, not only of the 2005 Branford Boase Award, but also of The Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize and the Michael L Printz Award. On hearing that she had won the Branford Boase Award she said: "As a 48-year-old first-time novelist, it's a wonderful honour and encouragement to be awarded the Branford Boase Award. I love the idea that How I Live Now could be the start of a new fifty year career!”
