Linda was a college lecturer, worked for an American software company and brought up a son and daughter to school age before succumbing to the lure of the written word.  She has written articles for The Independent, a play for Radio 4 and an original drama for BBC1. Gideon the Cutpurse, the first novel in a time-travelling trilogy which she wrote over a number of years for her own children, was awarded a Highly Commended Distinction by the judges of the 2007 Branford Boase Award.  It is currently being published in ten countries, including Russia and Japan.
