The competition will be judged by Kate Jones of Young Writer Magazine.

The writers of the best six stories will be invited to meet Jacqueline Wilson at the Branford Boase Award party in London on July 9th, 2008, travel expenses paid (UK only). They will also win a copy of each of the books shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award and be able to meet the authors.

There is also a chance for one of the HBWC winners on the night to win an extra prize of £500's worth of books for their school library chosen through Peters Bookselling Services
